Poem: Forever, a face

Forever, a face

Of mine looms

Behind careful composure.

Waiting, longing,

A forceful shadow.

With surety, in doubt

Of personal opinion

Faithless it flies.

Scouting for laws

And human truths denied.

Spotting opportunity

In a friend’s love forsaken.

She does her best

To show me hard truth

And I unwillingly defer.

Gone is my value,

My own self lost,

Beliefs rocked and trodden.

Eternal proof satisfied,

it feasts on meagre confidence.
